About Me
Welcome! I am Xingpeng Sun, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Purdue University. I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Aniket Bera. Previously, I received my B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with Distinctive Scholastic Achievement.
My research sits at the intersection of foundation models, robotics, and graphics. I study how to strengthen the spatial reasoning, planning, and 3D understanding capabilities of vision-language models by grounding them in domain knowledge from robotics and computer graphics — with applications spanning mesh deformation, robot navigation, and automated inspection planning.
